Please note that both dust caps on the tweeters are slightly damaged but they sound fantastic and there is no voice coil damage. These have all original components, and except for the scratch visible in one picture, cosmetically overall they are in almost excellent condition. These also have the original Polk Audio tweeters with the tiny hole in the center of the Dust cap as opposed to the Peerless cheaper tweeters which replaced these. For sale is a RARE pair of Beautiful Classic Polk Audio RTA-12C Stereo Loudspeakers right and left pair. These are in Excellent condition! the cabinets are beautiful no major scratches, cracks, chips or gouges all the corners are sharp and not dinged up even the backs are nice. The grills are also superb no rips, tears or holes and the frames are not broken. All the drivers are working perfect and have no dented cones no rips or tears to the drivers surrounds are in excellent condition no rot they are rubber. There is no buzzing, scraping or distortion, All drivers are fully functional and these do have the rare peerless tweeters as well. These are VERY clean speakers very well cared for. This is a pristine pair of Polk Audio MW6500 pair for early Monitor 10 and RTA 12 speakers. These were taken from a pair of RTA 12s (not the B or C model- these are the earlier model with the slightly smaller enclosure, equal drive between the two midbass drivers, and Peerless tweeter that stood by itself on the enclosure with no mounting plate). This pair of 6500s is near-perfect, two of the nicest I have seen. They play fine, measure good, and have no physical damage anywhere (cones and surrounds are perfect). I have included the basic measurements for these two drivers. As you can see, they measure 6.7 and 6.8 ohms in resistance. All other measurements fall in a range of typical tolerance values. I have applied a careful and smooth bead of metal epoxy on both sides of the magnet to avoid any magnet shift in shipping. As many know, when these older Polk drivers take a bump being shipped, the old magnet glue lets go and the magnet shifts position, trapping the voice coil in place and rendering the driver useless....unless one has the equipment and skill to disassemble the unit and reset the magnet and back plate assembly.
