Only one Vishay resistor is in the signal path at each volume setting, the volume is controllable via the front panel switch or the remote control, a universal one pre-programmed with this unit. there are 100 steps in the volume settings, and each is engaged by a ladder of electronic relays for purity of sound and lowest distortion. What goes in is what comes out, you get to adjust the level of gain from 0 downward. No acitive gain in this unit, it is purely passive and does not get in the way of the signal. Both channels are switched simultaneously, so the channel balance is not individually adjustable.The wall wart power supply connects to a DIN jack in the back of the unit, and supplies power to the relay switches.Ships to continental US only please.
