Receiver works perfect in direct mode. Both channels are equal and sound great. It’s a powerhouse,putting out 125 Watts @8ohms, but if you are here, you already know that. I think this can go head to head with my VSXD1S.The reason I am listing it for parts or repair is there is an issue with jazz, hall, dance, and theater selections in the surround mode. It’s a great receiver for two channel listening the way it is. when you make the selections in surround mode, it sounds like a station is not tuned. After doing some research, I found out that this is a very common problem with this receiver so if you’re looking for a two channel system, it will do just that with authority.. it is very heavy, so shipping will be steep. please make sure you understand that this is a parts or repair unit even though it works perfect in direct mode. Genuine OEM Pioneer CU-VSX023 Programmable AV High End Remote Control. I believe this was originally paired with the VSX-9900S Receivers. This is the top of the line version with controls for 12 inputs, but can also be used with lower level receivers that only have 8. I actually used this one with a VSX-D1S Receiver, so all 12 buttons worked, although on the remote the top right input button is labeled for a laser disk player (LD), and on the VSX-D1S, the corresponding input is labeled as video disc player (VDP). This remote is system remote compatible for other components that you can connect with a small RCA plug to the receiver. There are some light indications of wear and use, but this remote has hasnt been abused, and remains in very good usable condition. The battery compartment is clean, with no sign of previous corrosion. This unit was tested today, and works properly including the back lighting on the input buttons. That said, this is 30+ year old technology, so it will be sold with no guarantees. Please use the photographs to get a good idea of the condition, and ask any questions prior to purchase.
