This unit is an excellent condition. There are a couple little quirks about this that you should be aware of. 1. The left channel volume is about half the level of the right channel even when balanced to set evenly. Keep this in mind prior to purchasing. There is still volume in the left channel, but it’s not even. 2. The remote receiver, power button looks like popped off. It is still functional if you push it down with something else, but please look at the photos to see what I am referring to. Other than that, this unit is in really good condition.

The Vintage Pioneer VSX-9700S Stereo A/V Receiver is a classic black unit from Japan. I have a Pioneer Audio/Video Multi-Channel Receiver, model VSX-9700S for sale. The unit is in good cosmetic condition. The unit does power on and you can see the levels register when an audio input is applied. However no sound comes out from the speakers - it had 2 burned out fuses which I replaced only to have them burn out when I tested it again, suggesting there is a short somewhere within it. It does not have a remote controller included as we did not get it when we received the receiver. Item is sold on an AS-IS basis for PARTS OR REPAIR with stated issues. All sales are final. Vintage Pioneer VSX-9700S 5 Channel 580 Watt Stereo Receiver No Remote Unit powers on and and is in good physical condition. All buttons seem to be functional, and digital display corresponds when any button is pressed, but no further testing has been done. Being sold for parts or repair only because I havent done any extensive testing on it. SOLD AS IS.

I have had the stereo since the early 90s in college. I took out of service about 10 years ago when I bought a new one, but I don’t remember why I bought a new one. I don’t have any speakers to hook it up to it, but when I put it on receiver, you can see the unit unit is receiving radio signals because the EQ is going up and down. I might still have the remote but I will have to look around. I actually think I use a smaller pioneer remote on it than the one it originally came with it. I just gave it a wipe down for the photos. It shows use but would clean up nice. If eBay shipping looks too high, reach out to me and will try to get an exact quote on it.

Vintage Pioneer VSX-9700s Stereo A/V Receiver - Tested Working READ DESCRIPTION The receiver has been tested and found to be fully working. The receiver has pre-out features for its amplifiers that require jumpers if a pre-amp is not used. I do not have these jumpers. A simple set of RCA cables do the same thing, just not as tidy. I have included three sets of RCA cables to use as jumpers as shown in the pictures. Without jumpers or using pre-amps you will not get sound from the receiver. There are some minor scuffs and scratches from prior use, but overall is in good cosmetic condition as well. The receiver will require a signature on delivery. See pictures for details.
