Restoration DetailsThis unit was meticulously restored by Marblehead Audio in July of 2023. All electrolytic capacitors have been replaced, including the large off board coupling and main capacitors We used either Wima Film (for 4.7uf or smaller) or Nichicon & Panasonic electrolytic capacitors. We exclusively use low ESR or low leakage, high-quality electrolytic capacitors. Wima film caps are an upgrade over the original electrolytic capacitors providing superior sound and virtually unlimited life. The coupling capacitors were replaced with high quality 3300uf 63v United Chem-Con capacitors. Similarly, the main capacitor was replaced with a Kemet 4700uf 80v capacitor. All capacitors are of equal or (in most cases) increased voltage. A select few filter capacitors were increased in capacitance to provide better bass and transient response. A number of known problematic transistors were also replaced. Not all transistors were replaced, nor should they be. We replace only those that are known problems since production of the TX-6500 II. Similar to the transistors, we replaced a few select diodes. Both AM & FM work flawlessly and pick up stations with ease. Lamps were replaced with new incandescents to maintain original look. All switches, pots, fuses, push button and other non-soldered connection points (rca inputs, speaker connections, etc) were treated with Caig products.CosmeticsThis TX-6500 II has a few flaws on the faceplate and the bonnett has been repainted. Thanks for looking! This auction is for a vintage PIONEER SA-6500 II VINTAGE STEREO AMPLIFIER AMP - AS-IS - Needs Repair. I’ve had this amp for years and never got around to fixing it so it’s time for it to go. I assume it has a blown output transistor, but it’s also missing the cord. It’s still in relatively good condition so it could be repaired or used for parts. I do have the top, I just left it off for the photos. Sold as-is, for parts or repair. If you have any questions, just ask!

Up for sale is a refurbished Pioneer SA-6500 II 30 WRMS/channel Integrated Amplifier. It has been carefully cleaned inside and out, all controls have been treated with DeOxit, the plastic phone jack has been replaced with a metal Switchcraft jack, and the power light has been replaced. The line cord was repaired where there was some fraying; each wire was individually soldered and covered with shrink wrap, and then the entire splice was covered with another piece of shrink wrap. The original Users Manual and full Schematic are included. I have thoroughly tested this unit and run it thru both my JBL L36 speakers and my large Advent speakers. It sounds and looks great.
