This has been stored on a shelf not being used for years but still works. Not sure how well it works though. We cannot get it off of track four. When you insert the 8 track automatically goes to 4 and doesn’t change. Not sure if it’s a easy fix.

With that being said, I don’t know how to fully test the unit. I don’t know if everything is working properly so it is being sold as is for parts repair. Please note there are condition issues. There’s a small dent and a piece of the wood veneer missing. Please see pictures for details. The 8 track does play. I can hear it turning the tape. There is a belt squeaking. The pause and fast forward functions seem to work when pressed. The Dolby surround seems to works. Probably just needs a good cleaning but I’m not sure.

PLAYER IS IN PERFECT WORKING CONDITION ,,ALL LIGHTS AND FUNCTIONS WORKING AS THEY SHOULD ,,,I CLEANED THE TAPE TRANSPOT ,,ADJUSTED THE TAPE HEAD FOR THE BEST QUALITY SOUND ,,,BELT IS IN GOOD CONDITION ,,,ALL MOVING PARTS LUBED ,,,TAPE HEAD DEMAGNETIZED ,,,NOTE I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING AND RESTORING 8 TRACK PLAYERS FOR OVER 30 YEARS ,,,EACH PLAYER AFTER IT IS FIXED I LISTEN TO FOR ABOUT A WEEK TO INSURE THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS ,INSIDE THIS PLAYER I HAVE ETCHED IN A FEW PLACES AND DOCUMENTED THEM THIS IS FOR MY PROTECTION ,,,IN THE PAST I HAVE COME ACROSS A FEW DISHONEST SCAMMERS THAT WOULD PURCHASE MY WORKING PLAYER THEN HARVEST PARTS FROM ,,AND OR JUST SEND ME BACK THERE NONE WORKING PLAYER FOR THERE REFUND ,,,SAD BUT TRUE ,,FOR THE HONEST BUYERS THANKS FOR STOPPING BY AND HAVE A GREAT DAY
