Very good Neumann / Telefunken transformer from the golden era of German vintage audio consoles and microphones! This listing is for one piece of permalloy core moving coil, mumetal shielded, mic or line level transformer for 100:600 ohms impedance matching. Dimensions are as follows: L: 30mm W: 28mm H: 31mm In my opinion its a nice size and weight for a line transformer. It will give you the right amount of collor, and yet will be clear sounding. Use it to get that wonderful transformer sound, with low end that is full and deep, creamy and present mids and very smooth highs. You can use it as a MC step-up with a gentle ratio to bring up your MC signal and get less noise and a much better overal character. You could also use it as a rematch unit. Lets say you have a MC step-up transformer that you use with a low impedance cartridge source, wired as 10:100 ohms or 5:150 ohms (such as some Jrgen Shou units) or something alike. Use this transformer in series to bring to the audio signal an extra and welcome boost. I do recommend that serious audiophiles tries these configurations with two or even multiple audio transformers in series. The results are really awesome if you know what you are doing impedance wise. It also goes very well as a line level unit on many places in a setup, such as between the preamp and the amplifier, after the DAC, CD or DVD player, on the outputs of a smart TV box or media player, an MP3 player, etc. Also if you like active crossovers and EQs, you can use it both on inputs or outputs of these. But if you are into DIY, you could implement it on the tube or Solid State amp or preamp (in and out), a DAC, etc. For musicians and producers that likes to build stuff for thier studios, you could use it as input for Pultec type EQ or other passive EQs, an 1176 compressor clone (feed it with a mic, yeah!), NEVE 2254 diode comp, Spectrasonics type or Jensen 990 mic preamps, etc. This is an original Neumann pro audio part, TOP NOTCH!
