Pickering XV15 1200E vintage phono cartridge. I purchased this several years ago as a spare, but never used it. This was the top of the line cartridge from Pickering when it came out. Similar to Stanton 681EEE, but better sounding in my opinion. Nude mounted stylus. Tracks great at 1 - 1.25 grams. Briefly tested and it sounds great. Vintage Empire 208 Turntable with 98 Tone Arm and Pickering XV15 Cartridge in need of a new stylus. This unit powers up and the platter spins. The motor is quiet and strong, and the start button still illuminates as it should. That is all the testing that could be performed on this turntable due to the lack of a needle. Cosmetically, there is finish wear on the plinth. Wood base is in good condition with a few small marks here and there. As with 99.9% of these turntables, there is no dust cover. I know less than nothing about this particular turntable, so please view the 16 pictures. The photos are the most important part of this description, and I have tried to take pictures from every angle including the bottom, so you know what youre getting. Due to age, a long period of non-use, and the inability to fully test, this turntable is offered for restoration and sold as is.
