PYE (PHILIPS) HI FI SOUND PROJECT AT 6000 AMPLIFIER AM/FM RECEIVER Philips Japanese made amplifier receiver with AM/FM tuner. Late 1970s/early 1980s and variously re-badged as Loewe, Dux or in this case PYE, for different Philips subsidiaries serving different markets. Striking brushed aluminium fascia with backlit tuning dial and full metal case. Please note dimensions- a large heavy weight unit! Case is in very good condition with few scratch marks. Fascia virtually unmarked. Working order, including tuning dial backlights and selector lights. Front fascia from left to right has power on, headphone jack, speaker selector switches, bass and treble tone controls, CONT (loudness), hi filter, mode (stereo/mono), tape monitor selector buttons, input selector, volume, tuning knob. Rear connections include 5 pin DIN inputs for 2 turntables moving magnet cartridges with groundwire screw, one aux line input and two tape loops. Aerial inputs are female plug in terminals. Four 2 pin DIN speaker terminals for two pairs of speakers (8 Ohm), captive mains lead with Type G 3 pin UK mains plug supplied). Fuse carrier. Has an onboard AM aerial and tunes effectively. Needs an external FM aerial- works on a dipole aerial but much better on a proper roof aerial. Sound is good as you would expect from the Hi Fi Sound Project range.
