Philips CDR-778 CD Recorder Deck The unit has two CD trays, one for playing and the other for recording (using blank CD-Rs). You can record, erase and finalize the new CD-R. I am the original owner and bought this to record vinyl LPs to CD back in the day. It’s been kept in storage for a long while, in a non-smoking home. Upon deciding to part with this, I unpacked it and plugged it in. Powers up just fine (as you will see in my provided video). The unit itself is in beautiful condition, gently used and taken care of - with only a few minor scratches on the reverse right, which you can see in my images. However … to my surprise, neither of the two trays will open when I press the “open / close” buttons. I don’t recall this ever being an issue before – and have no idea how to remedy this. You can hear the motor trying to activate the tray, but it won’t. Due to this, I can’t test disc copying and can’t vouch for any other functions – but my memory is that when I last used it, there were no problems in the recording process. All this said, I am pricing this accordingly (as-is). If you are an “electronics person”, maybe this can be fixed or perhaps you want this for parts. Also included are the power cord, a set of red/white audio cables & the original remote control. I have a PDF file of the Philips manual and am happy to share that with the buyer, once purchased.
