Vintage Phase Linear 400 Series Two Power Amplifier Factory rated at 210 watts per channel purchased by me on June 29, 1979 at a cost of $535.00 (Big money back then!). Amplifier has been meticulously taken care of (see photos) since day one and only moved (using factory box - see photos) 4 times. For its initial 10 years it powered my JBL 166 Horizon speakers and for the next 30 years it powered my JBL 4412 speakers and presently has been sitting on the same equipment shelf for past 30 years and most recently used to power my JBL 100 Classic speakers. Amplifier is ALL ORIGINAL and has never had the need to be serviced! In fact it still has the original fuses from the factory. The top plate has been removed by me a couple of times over the years to blow out dust. Amplifier is in Full working condition and both Volume knobs work smoothly and quietly. Both Meters work perfectly. Perfect candidate for a modern up grade (e.g. White Oak Audio) and then maybe it will last for another 45 years :-) Note: I’ve always utilized a Phase Linear Fan Kit to keep the amplifier running as cool as possible - but a fan is probably only needed for Demanding low efficiency 4 ohm speakers. Fan kits are available on e-bay. Amplifier will be shipped in it’s Original Factory Box (see photos) and an additional “Double box” will be used to help avoid damage to the original Factory Box in shipping. I plugged it in and the red lights run across the meters and then stop with a single light. No further testing. I am not sure why it was taken apart so selling As Is for parts or repair. It is missing the top plate and the screws that hold the 2 front plates on. please see photos for details. Buyer pays shipping through UPS ground. Phase Linear 6000 series Two Audio Delay unit’s Delay output mutes when Delay is engaged. Tested today and both volume pots and the Frequency Compensation control function. There is output to both sets of outputs in the Non-Delay mode, however, when Delay circuit is engaged, Delay output is muted. That’s why I am selling it for parts.
