I remember reading a review on these amplifiers and the reviewer already has plans ot keep his. If you know who and how these are built its easy to want one yourself. PASS amplifiers generally exist in 3 generations. The first, .5 and .8 (Dont ask to to explain those numers because I cant.). In this case the model is X-600 or first gen. Many owners never let these go and they are hard to find for sale since there is a lot of beleif that this was the best gen. Anyway, this customers fould a pair of X1000s so the 600s had to go. More then just an impressive 600 watts per channel (1200 at 4 ohms), these amplifiers will run in PURE CLASS-A up to 170 watts each! You NEVER use that kind of power, unless you want to damage something, so for all intensive purposes these are Class- A amps. They are also fully balanced from end to end. The PASS sound is colorless, yet imensly dynamic, yet warm at the same time. I guess we call that balanced. Because of this, the space and soundstage are massive. Everything is in control and convincingly real. Transparency and neutrality are at a reference level. Theres nothing these wont drive and do it well. These were in a system driving Wilson Alexandria XLFs at $200K/pair so they are capable of doing some amazing things. Our service departent went throught both amps and they are healthy and ready to provide years of enjoyment. PASS is also one of those brands that we RARELY see in our service department. Another nod to their fantastic build quality. Up for sale is a pair of Pass Labs XA60.5 Class A Monoblocks amplifiers with power cords only - No original boxes but will be packaged extremely well in double box. These Pass Labs XA60.5 amplifiers are in Excellent cosmetic condition with some nicks on the side of frontplates and 2 minor scratches in the rear of one amp (Please see pictures for more details). Heatsink pins are in excellent shape without bent or any damages. There are some fingerprints on the bottoms. They are very easy to wipe out. I believe theyre up to version 8.Unfortunately at some point they changed the cabinet from this beautiful three dimensional appearance with the big gorgeous round meter to a much more conservative look. Im partial to these earlier versions.The circuitry did not evolve much throughout these revisions, and the original X600s are still considered to be an absolutely killer amplifier. Theyre capable of driving just about any load down to 2 ohms, no matter how difficult. It will deliver its power with ease and finesse.This particular example was well cared for by a single owner. They show no signs of wear, use, or abuse. They were owned by a famous musician which I will share to the new owner. There are no scratches or dinged corners or any discoloration. Thats really something considering their heft. They present extremely *extremely* nice. This X600 set is also an excellent match to the Pass X1 Preamp currently available.These will ship via freight on a pallet for safe transport.
