Up for sale is a 2.1 Parasound Halo P6 pre-amplifier with an on-board MM/MC phono section and DAC. I am the original owner and this unit has always been in a smoke-free and pet-free environment. The Parasound P6 checks all the boxes to complete an audiophile system. I bought this preamp because it has a moving-coil phono section. It worked great with my low output, moving-coil cartridge. I found it had plenty of gain bringing my Emotiva mono-block amplifiers to life (see related ad for the mono-blocks). Another consideration was it offered XLR connections. As a bonus, I used the on-board DAC when I needed some background music while I worked around the house. I streamed to my Macbook then routed that signal into the preamp with a USB cable. It performed great. Alas, I now have a much smaller listening room that is kind of isolated from the rest of the house, thus I dont use the DAC anymore. Besides, I have downgraded to a lower powered integrated which doesnt have a DAC. Its time for someone else to enjoy this well appointed, in-new-condition, preamp. Parasound Halo P 6 2.1 Channel Preamplifier and DAC Preamp with HT bypass, bass management, as well as onboard USB DAC, MM/MC phonostage, and dedicated high-current headphone amp. The Parasound Halo P 6 is a stereo preamp that offers analog bass management with high- and low-pass crossovers, and front-panel subwoofer control. A home theater bypass input allows for surround sound integration. Adding to the flexibility is an onboard Sabre DAC with a USB input that can handle 384/23 PCM audio and native DSD64, DSD128, DSD256, and DoP DSD. There is also an MM/MC phonostage and a dedicated high-current headphone amp. The P 6 uses a Burr Brown analog resistor ladder volume control with a ball-bearing-supported solid aluminum volume knob. There are balanced and single-ended line outputs and subwoofer outputs. The bass and treble controls come with a relay bypass to remove them from the signal path.
