Parasound HCA-1206 High Current Six Channel Amplifier For your consideration, we have a well built Parasound HCA-1206 High Current Six Channel Amplifier from a working Parasound system in a custom install. The amp is in perfect working order. This beast of an amp has plenty of power at 135 watts per channel at 8 ohms, and weighs in at over 70lbs. Channels 3&4, and 5&6 can be bridged mono. We cleaned the 6 potentiometers on the back, as well as the switches and then treated them with Deoxit F5, and D5 respectively. We checked the inside of the amp and saw no signs of swollen or leaking caps, and any signs of heat stress. It is very clean, as can be seen in the pictures in the listing. On our bench, we hooked the amp up to a Sencore PA81 Stereo Power Amplifier Analyzer acting as a dummy load and Oscilloscope interface. Using an audio generator, we ran a 1k signal through the amps inputs, slowly increasing the amplitude while monitoring the output on our oscilloscope for signs of noise, clipping, distortion, or improper channel balance. All six channels tested clean on the scope. The amp is rated at 135 watts per channel, and produced a clean signal at 135 watts per channel. We then hooked the amp up to one of our house systems, and ran each channel for 8 hours. We were very please with the sound of the amp. Physically the unit is in very good condition, with only minor blemishes. There are no dents or deep scratches. Usually heavy amps like this take a bit of a beating over the years, but this unit was initially installed in a custom setup, and never touched until we purchased and removed it. Up for sale is my Parasound HCA-1200 mkII. The unit is in working shape and sound very good. I have used as a L/R power amp for my home theater for the last two years. Includes the power cord in the picture The amp has two issues: 1) A prior owner cut the sides off on the front panel fins to I assume fit into a cabinet. This does not impact functionality at all. Was done by someone who knows their way around a metal shop as there are no rough edges to the raw metal. 2) The volume POTs on the back must stay at full volume (THX). If you reduce the volume, lots of noise gets introduced into the sound and becomes very scratchy. I suspect this is a cheap, easy fix with the right electronics cleaner. Up for sale is a POWERFUL Parasound HCA-1206 THX CERTIFIED 6 channel power amplifier. This amp puts out 135 Watts per Channel when run in 6 channel mode. Two pairs of channels can be bridged producing a whopping 350 Watts per Channel for the bridged channels!! This amp was from the original owner. When I obtained it one of the channels was not working. I took it to my tech (LDL Audio/Video Services, see blue tag on back of unit) who repaired the channel and when through it, giving it a clean bill of health. Cosmetically the unit is in very good overall condition. There are a few minor scuffs on the top front edge and typical minor marks elsewhere. PLEASE NOTE that one of the plastic feet on the bottom of the unit has been replaced and does not exactly match the rest.
