Bridging function was checked10. We checked flatness from 100 Hz to 10 kHz, and the channels were flat to within 5%11. After service, measured power output at 1 kHz into 8 Ohms, one channel driven, is 213 W RMS for the left channel & 215 W RMS for the right channel at clip.12. Total bridged power was more than 640 Watts RMS at 1 kHz into 8 Ohms at the onset of clipping13. I bought this amp new in the 90s and used it for a pair of passive subs, then the rear channels in a surround setup. Unfortunately, a couple of years ago, I was using it in an experiment for work driving a piece of equipment and blew out one of the channels. I spent $100 to get it evaluated for repair, and the guy I took it to said it had enough damage to one or more of the boards that it would not be worth repairing. One channel still works fine though, so you could use it for a passive sub, a center channel, or a monoblock. Or just the parts. Cosmetically in pretty good shape; see the pictures. I do not have the original box or manual. Buyer to pay shipping via Fedex.

Parasound HCA-1206 THX 6 channel amplifier. Very little use over the years. I’ve been hanging onto it in hopes of building a dedicated listening room but now it’s taking up space. Plugged up today and tested. All channels work. Everything functions properly. I let it play for about an hour and she’s still sounding great! I lost the original power cord but used a computer cord to test it. Would recommend getting a heavy duty cord for it. Comes with instructions manual. This amp is HEAVY. It weighs approximately 75lbs. The handles are on it for a reason ????

The amp is in perfect working order. This beast of an amp has plenty of power at 135 watts per channel at 8 ohms, and weighs in at over 70lbs. Channels 3&4, and 5&6 can be bridged mono. We cleaned the 6 potentiometers on the back, as well as the switches and then treated them with Deoxit F5, and D5 respectively. We checked the inside of the amp and saw no signs of swollen or leaking caps, and any signs of heat stress. It is very clean, as can be seen in the pictures in the listing. On our bench, we hooked the amp up to a Sencore PA81 Stereo Power Amplifier Analyzer acting as a dummy load and Oscilloscope interface. Using an audio generator, we ran a 1k signal through the amps inputs, slowly increasing the amplitude while monitoring the output on our oscilloscope for signs of noise, clipping, distortion, or improper channel balance. All six channels tested clean on the scope. The amp is rated at 135 watts per channel, and produced a clean signal at 135 watts per channel. We then hooked the amp up to one of our house systems, and ran each channel for 8 hours. We were very please with the sound of the amp. Physically the unit is in very good condition, with only minor blemishes. There are no dents or deep scratches. Usually heavy amps like this take a bit of a beating over the years, but this unit was initially installed in a custom setup, and never touched until we purchased and removed it. This audio power amplifier was very lightly used. It is probably about 18 years old but lightly used. It has been tested and does work great. The power cord is included. The spot on the bottom that looks like rust was a mark left when dust was removed. It has not been near water. Please let me know if you do not want this shipped via FedEx. That does seem to be the most cost effective way to ship a heavier item like this.

Up for sale is my Parasound HCA-1200 mkII. The unit is in working shape and sound very good. I have used as a L/R power amp for my home theater for the last two years. Includes the power cord in the picture The amp has two issues: 1) A prior owner cut the sides off on the front panel fins to I assume fit into a cabinet. This does not impact functionality at all. Was done by someone who knows their way around a metal shop as there are no rough edges to the raw metal. 2) The volume POTs on the back must stay at full volume (THX). If you reduce the volume, lots of noise gets introduced into the sound and becomes very scratchy. I suspect this is a cheap, easy fix with the right electronics cleaner. Otherwise, the amp sounds great!! Note: I included a few pictures of the circuit boards inside for anyone who is knowledgeable enough on this stuff. Auction for the lower 48 states ONLY.
