There is still a 9volt battery connected. One speaker grill has a very small push in as the arrows shows. There is still a 9volt battery connected. One speaker grill has a very small push in as the arrows shows. For auction is a rare and great example of the Panasonic RX5030 Serviced Radio Cassette Recorder. In lovely overall condition. It has just been stripped, deep cleaned & serviced - with a new Decktech Precision belt (not a cheap generic one), mechanism service etc - including a head clean, capstan & pinch roller clean. The mechanism is solid and made from heavy guage pressed steel with a metal flywheel - not plastic like so many newer models. All knobs, switches etc are present, including the original aerial with the plastic tip. The unit is very punchy and loud, with a tight bass response - a great sounding unit! It plays normal, Chrome and Ferro-Chrome tapes. The radio is excellent. Very sensitive and picks up loads of stations. Obviously, coverage varies by area, but this is a comparatively effective and clear unit (I live in England, and picked up a Welsh speaking FM Stereo station easily, which I cannot usually do with other radios). The FM stereo light works, as do the led meter lights (please see photos). The meter switch allows for operation, battery status or power level, and all LEDs function. The Long Wave and Medium Wave also picks up stations. SW does work, but theres little broadcast there these days. It has external antenna connections, plus external stereo mic inputs, stereo speaker outs (from 3-8 Ohms, so very versatile), headphone socket and a DIN connector for integration with other units where required. The battery terminals are very clean, with no previous leakage. The battery cover is present, and the unit has been tested on both mains and batteries (not supplied). The mechanism is solid and made from heavy guage pressed steel with a metal flywheel - not plastic like so many newer models. All knobs, switches etc are present, including the original aerial with the plastic tip. The unit is very punchy and loud, with a tight bass response - a great sounding unit! It plays normal, Chrome and Ferro-Chrome tapes. The FF and RW are super strong, having literally just had new belts and service on the day of the listing. The tape speed has been checked, and the unit is running beautifully. The radio is excellent. Very sensitive and picks up loads of stations. Obviously, coverage varies by area, but this is a comparatively effective and clear unit. All 4 radio bands operate correctly, subject to coverage in your area.
