Doch auch die Technik ist anders. Das integrierte Headshell mit SME-Anschluss des Ortofon MC Xpression Heritage wird im Selective Laser Melting-Verfahren hergestellt. Dabei wird ein pulverförmiges Material in Schichten von nur wenigen Nanometern aufgetragen und Schicht für Schicht mit einem Laser verschmolzen. So können Hohlräume wie z.B. Kabelkanäle in Werkstücken verwirklicht werden, wie sie nachträglich durch Bohren oder Fräsen nicht zu bewerkstelligen sind. Homogenität und spezifische Dichte ähneln dem des Grundwerkstoffs. Das so entstandene Werkstück (Tonabnehmergehäuse) ist sehr schwer in Schwingung zu versetzen, was einer kontrollierten Wiedergabe über den kompletten Frequenzbereich förderlich ist. Das SME-Bajonett erspart die bei Tonabnehmern mit Halbzoll-Befestigung übliche, zeitraubende Justage des Tonabnehmers am Headshell. Cartridge has been thoroughly checked out, bench tested, play tested, and guaranteed to perform as new. Sounds absolutely amazing. As you can see from the photos, separation readings are an excellent 35dB which of course is considerably above 25dB spec, and channel balance is below 1dB, well within 1.0dB spec and output is excellent and in phase. It’s in perfect condition except for some cosmetic blemishes and patina as can be seen in photos. What you see is what you get.
