I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to my SACD collection via this unit, but I have recently acquired a Sony Blu-Ray player that also supports SACD, making this oppo unit expendable. The only trouble I experienced: the tray stuck once (would not open). I opened the cabinet, manually opened the tray, and it has never again failed to Open/Close. Absolutely beautiful picture and sound. SACD support is AWESOME. The digital/optical port does not support SACD format; only stereo, but there are individual analog outputs for playing 5-channel SACD. By the way, I never needed a remote. My experience is that the oppos onboard Play button is sufficient to start a DVD movie. Coincidentally, my new Sony Blu-Ray unit requires that I press the center button on my remote to start a movie!
