Ive done this on older Oppo players and it was easy, but with the mechanism in this unit I cannot get the DVD out without more disassembly than Im up to. So you get a free DVD, (of the TV show Elementary). I left the lid off. Looking inside I see no evidence of burnt or shorted electronic parts. No aroma of that either.
