This auction is for an Oppo BDP-83 Special Edition Player with Power Cord. No remote included in this listing. There is an issue with the tray / door opening. See below for details. The limited run Special Edition model differs from the standard model with revised audio board using the ESS Technology Sabre32 Ultra DAC (ES9016) and the ESS Sabre Premier 8-channel DAC (ES9006). Other than the tray open/close issue this player works. If you are would like the original remote I am listing the remote separately. If you win listing for the remote and win listing for the Oppo BDP-83 Special Edition Player I will combine shipping. KNOWN ISSUE There is an issue with the disc tray / door mechanism. It sometimes gets stuck and wont open. Ive found that if I keep a disc in the tray its more likely to open. If theres no disc then it wont open. As specified on the Oppo website this is a known issue. I contacted Oppo in 2022 and they said they can fix the unit through the out of warranty process. Please contact them directly to see if this is still the case via their support website.

Unused after coming back from service at Oppo a few years back where they refurbished the unit, including a brand new faceplate and loader. This is a great Blu Ray, SACD, DVD-Audio and CD player with exceptional sound. Impossible to touch its performance for the money. As is typical of the exceptional service at Oppo, they replaced more than they had to, completely cleaned. lubricated and adjusted to ensure optimal operation and completely tested passing all factory tests and diagnostics. This Oppo player truly both looks and operates like new. If youre interested in an Oppo BDP-83SE (and IMHO you should be!), this is best you will find next to an unobtainable new one. For audio, it makes an outstanding multi-disc player or one of the best transports you can find - especially at the price. I am happy to answer any questions you might have. Oppo BDP-83 3D Blu-Ray Disc Player for parts or repair. Unit wont power on. I took a look at the circuit board near the power relay and Im almost certain it just needs a new fuse as the current one looks burned out but Im not a technician so I cant be 100% on that.
