ONOKYO QUARTZ LOCKED STEREO RECEIVER . Model: TK 6500 MK II

This vintage receiver is functional, except for the FM tuner. It does tune, but it drifts. Also, you need to press and hold the little lock button down in order to tune manually. The presets seem to somewhat work. But some buttons stick and/or dont stay engaged. I think there is something wrong with the board. This is why its listed for parts/ repair. AM seems to work fine, but there is a crash in the AM antenna. The original dial pioneer was missing when I received the receiver. My tech rigged an LED pointer now, which actually looks pretty good. All 3 sets of speaker outputs work as do the other inputs (I didnt test the tape loops). This unit suffered some cosmetic damage when it was shipped to me, mainly in the rear and corners. Pieces of the power jacks were chipped off, but all 3 are working. Please carefully examine the pictures to judge cosmetics.

Pushing the power button turns the unit on for a couple seconds with no inputs or speakers connected, then receiver turns itself back off. Overall clean and in nice condition cosmetically, for parts or repair only Possible explanation of problem from the internet: “Most likely a DC problem of some sort - either a single amp channel has a DC offset, or a regulated power supply stage has malfunctioned, the likely result of which is a DC offset at all amp channels, or simply that the microprocessor-controlled protection circuit has detected the power supply fault. There is also a chance of a blown amp channel, shorted output transistors, drivers, resistors, etc.”
