DescriptionBased on the A-1E of the Quest Integra series, this pre-main amplifier was developed by reviewing the basic circuit operation and elements used. The A-1Ever2 achieves excellent frequency response extending beyond 200kHz by reducing phase correction as much as possible. The phase correction circuit is located in the circuit with the least sound quality impact and is solved by using carefully selected components. The elimination of the output filter coil, coupled with flat damping technology that ensures flat damping factor characteristics within the audible bandwidth, results in an extended high-frequency response. In addition, the amount of overall negative feedback has been successfully reduced by lowering the high-frequency distortion factor. By also reducing the output impedance of the circuit, the adverse effects of electromotive force generated by speaker inertia on the operating mechanism of the amplifier circuit are eliminated. A real-time temperature compensation circuit is employed to reduce bias fluctuations caused by changes in load and music signals, thereby improving operational stability. The capacitors in the power supply section are equipped with development number 923 blue capacitors in order to balance the conflicting requirements of obtaining a sense of energy and high resolution. The power transformer is equipped with a toroidal LASER and r-nas with ultra-low leakage flux characteristics and a generous 15A type bridge rectifier diode. The chassis is an all-aluminum extruded monocoque chassis with a 9mm-thick front panel section that is highly rigid and non-magnetic. This chassis is finished with a margin of error of ±0.5 mm using high-precision machining techniques, and many ribs are provided on the inner and outer surfaces to improve chassis rigidity and reduce unwanted resonances. Furthermore, the transformer, heatsink, and printed circuit board are isolated from the chassis by insulators, and DuPont Corian insulators are used to support the chassis to ensure non-resonance and high rigidity. The speaker terminals use the well-known WBT terminals. The PIN terminals are newly manufactured rigid gold-plated terminals machined from brass, and are rigidly fixed to the rear panel with two points per pair on the left and right sides. The distance between the left and right terminals is also 18 mm, allowing the use of extra-thick PIN plugs. Thorough parts are used, including high-precision dual transistors for instrumentation in the differential amplification section, high-precision resistors with an error of ±0.1%, low distortion volume, Raderstein film conformers, and 70?m copper foil printed circuit boards.
