Wharfedale Diamond 220 in walnut finish Crossovers were upgraded using all Mundorf EVO and Clarity Cap Capacitors Resistors all upgraded to Mills/Omite 5W non-inductive wire-wound Cabinets lined with 1/8 acoustic felt New OCC Copper 14g wire to all drivers w/soldered connections Bi-wiring disabled takes only a single pair of cables (easily reversed back to bi-wire if needed) Over $250 just in parts upgrades and a lot of time. All factory values used in parts upgrades so they have the same sound signature as stock 220s just much better sounding! I wanted to see just how good these could be when upgraded with high quality parts. The change is amazing! They still have the same wonderful sound signature as OEM 220s but the upgraded caps and resistors let them sing with much greater transparency and musicality. Theres no comparison. They sound better in the mid and top end then the Linton. Of course you dont have the bass of the Linton as these are still a small bookshelf speaker. Ive moved to a large pair of floor standing Sonus Fabers and doing some late spring cleaning of extra gear. **You are going to have to spend $1000+ to get better sound then these in a small speaker. Youll be very very pleased. Speakers are in excellent condition non smoke non pet home and include all factory packaging/box etc.
