For sale is my Nitty Gritty original Pro double-side record cleaner that I have been using for many years. Moving to Europe and cannot take it with me owing to voltage difference. Please read details below carefully.- Unit is the older version of what is currently selling at Nitt Gritty for $1643.- My unit developed a leak in the pump that dispenses the cleaning fluid, so I use the machine by directly spraying cleaner onto the record surface. In my years of using this method, I find it better than the internal pump, providing greater control over liquid spray. The powerful motor works well and records come out really clean.- I met the new owner of the company at Cap Audio Fest in 2022 and he told me they can ship a replacement kit for $99 to fix the leak, a known issue. I never did this as i am happy with my own process. You can check directly with Nitty Gritty to get an update on this. You will also want to order the replacement felt lips as I am on my last one and it needs replacement. They had also told me they can do the replacement at their shop, but that will of course cost shipping to and fro.- Cosmetically the front looks great, the top looks age appropriate, the black veneer all around looks excellent.I have rated conservatively owing to the pump issue but you could use the machine as is and be very happy, as I have been for several years. This is a Nitty Gritty Mini-Pro 1 in very good working order. I am the original owner, but find that I dont use it much anymore. It will be shipped well-packed in its original box. It includes an unused Vac-Sweep replacement kit and an unused capstan replacement kit. It also has the original owners manual and assorted literature from Nitty Gritty. Its in good vintage condition, working properly, just as designed. The capstan slips a little sometimes, but then recovers friction, so I havent bothered to replace it, but Im including the capstan replacement kit for when it is needed. There is some cosmetic damage to the wooden case that does not affect operation. It had a fluid leak years ago that I didnt notice until it had gotten the lower parts of the cabinet wet. You can see the staining in the photo of the bottom. As a result, two of the screws holding the non-structural lower panel in place lost their hold. I repaired it with screws in new locations and the panel has been solidly attached again for a long time. Nitty Grittys customer support advised me about how to reseal the fluid system to prevent further leaks. Some time later the fluid pump stopped working properly and the company sold me a new one and provided detailed instructions and advice over the phone about how to install it. I have dealt with their customer support under both the original ownership in California and the new owners in Atlanta, and find them to be extremely helpful. Be sure to look at the shipping choices and select the one you prefer. If you live far from Michigan you may find that Fedex shipping is cheaper than UPS. If I receive payment before noon Eastern time, I can usually ship the same business day; otherwise I ship the following business day.
