Internal switch is set to 4x oversampling, but you can change it to 8X oversampling(dont ask me to do it,it is already packed and ready to go). Hello. Cleaning out some equipment I have accumulated over the years and no longer use. Here is for sale is one true audiophile DAC made by Enlightened Audio Design (E.A.D.), model DSP-7000. It is 20Bit DAc with user selectable x4 or x8 oversampling (requires opening the unit and changing the switch). If you really like your music to sound analog as oppose to digital and as close to vinyl sound as possible, this one is for you. This one is a non tube DAC which sounds like tube DAC. Yes, it is vintage but still performs excellent, just the day it was produced and I love the sound but have no use for it anymore.As you can see it is very clean unit for its age (just check the pictures as they are the part of description) with only few very minor scuffs or nicks at the edge of faceplate and a tiny smudge on top cover, one cannot see them from few feet away. It has RCA stereo out as well as digital out to connect to the DAT recorder or such. Digital inputs are: one Digital Coax RCA input, one optical TOSLINK and one very rare optical ST input for glass type fiber optical cable (it will give you the best sound if your transport has such output and it is on par with AES/EBU type of connection which is superior to regular TOSLINK and Coax). If you dont have ST type output on your transport, dont worry, regular Coax is the next best thing.The front panel features input selector and a phase inversion option, as well as some indicators lights: Lock will turn green when there is incoming signal, Err will turn on if there is a digital error in the incoming signal, and Dem will turn on when there is for de-emphasis (more on that in the included manual). Stand by light is always on,and you just need to press power button on the front to start. Unit is for 120V. Everything works as it should but this unit being a vintage piece of equipment is sold strictly AS IS, guaranteed not DOA. All my equipment comes from my extensive collection. There is no original box, but will be shipped safe and secure. Unit will come with rare manual and a standard power cord. Unit weights almost 20lb.- pretty heavy for a DAC mainly due to very thick face plate and a transformer.Unit is already packed and ready to be shipped, but local pick up is always welcome. Comments below by Eric and David “A”: “The CT-7000 is a beautiful, solidly built (29 pounds) analog FM-only tuner with the best sound our panelist Eric recalls ever hearing in his system, surpassing (among others) the top Kenwoods and Sansuis. The CT-7000 is particularly impressive at the low end. It is a pure audiophile tuner in stock form, with poor adjacent channel selectivity even in the Narrow IF mode. The CT-7000s features include a headphone output jack with level control, switchable muting with an adjustable threshold, and a signal meter that doubles as a multipath meter. The rear panel has fixed and variable audio outputs and multipath output jacks for an oscilloscope. Our panelist David A reports: The CT-7000 has a 7-gang tuning capacitor (two gangs in front of the first MOSFET RF amp, two in front of the second MOSFET RF amp, two in front of the MOSFET mixer and one for the bipolar local oscillator). It uses 7 IF filters, a mix of ceramic and LC types. The IF would be relatively easy to modify for increased selectivity, but I would wonder why anyone would want to since the CT-7000 is oriented toward sound quality and the IF choices were made in that vein.
