By design, the Nakamichi Stasis amplifiers were quite different from conventional designs that used global feedback. Without getting into technical details, these amplifiers are inherently stable with any load and always maintain uniform output impedance with no distortion. Because it has no negative feedback it has no distortion. To supply the demand for power, this PA-7A used a massive 700 watt toridal transformer and will deliver up to 50 amps of current per channel. 16 output transistors per channel provide the power to drive any speaker you choose. I probably should have started with the fact the Nelson Pass designed these amplifiers. He personally holds more amplifier design than anyone or any company on the planet. He loves to bias his designs to run slightly into pure class-A territory. This amp is no different and has a smooth, warmth that draws you into the music. This amp is the MK II and they refined some of the interior layout and power supply lines. Also fixed the protection issue and the overheating problems. This may be one of the best values youll find in a truly audiophile power amp. Nakamichi used slightly better components than the similar Thresholds so listeners prefer the Nakamichis. Here we have one of the best sounding stereo receivers of all time, the Nakamichi TA-4A. This was Nakamichi’s top of the line from 1988-1990 and is the most warm and smooth, yet detailed and powerful receivers ever made. It features the world renowned STASIS design by Nelson Pass. It is a high bias class A/B design and has a much higher class A operation wattage than most. That’s why it’s so warm and smooth. It’s has a phenomenal phono section and tuner section. Just Google this thing! I’ve owned all of the top receivers from the era (Luxman, Denon, NAD, Onkyo, Sony ES, etc) and this is the one I always go back to. It functions perfectly and sounds excellent. There are a few scuffs and scratches, but it’s in great shape for its age. The inside is clean and there are no pops or crackles in the controls. Powers up, searches and finds radio stations, Never noticed a Stereo light come on, but signal strength lights do work. Not sure what lights work or dont work, see Photos, they seem OK but dont know enough to know if any are out that should be on. A little Dusty. Vintage Nakamichi PA-7AII Stasis Inherently Stable Power Amplifier 225W+225W Good, clean, preowned condition. Fully tested and working. There are a couple small scratches on top of case. Front face has 2 small scuffs. A little touch up paint will have this looking pristine. No dents or damage beyond these superficial marks as shown in photos. Please keep in mind that this amplifier is 60 lbs so please plan accordingly. Please feel free to ask any questions.

Classic Nakamichi amplifier in excellent condition. Just some little nicks here and there otherwise very clean. The amplifier has a noise issue that comes on about 10 minutes into warming up. A white noise that can be in one channel or the other or both. After about 15 or so minutes of that it goes away and the channels are quiet. It doesnt always do it but most of the time it does. It a quiet room youll hear it if semi close to your speakers. It seems to be a ground loop issue. I dont know why but if you move the RCAs around the noise changes. The sound is mostly out of the tweeters. The channels always work Otherwise it sounds very good with lots of separation and a midrange thats natural. Look closely at all the pics. Ask any questions you may have. Comes with a 14 gauge power cord. It will be packed solid with thick styrofoam encasing it and fully insured. Direct signature will be required. (As is)
