Nakamichi 410 Preamplifier Works Fine w/ Phono. In good used condition. shows average wear for its age. All line level inputs and MM phono inputs work as they should.Tape functions were not checked.Controls and switches treated with F-5 & D-5 Deoxit cleaners and work as designed. Power indicator lamp is not working.Under the hood, things are pretty clean with minimal dust. The circuit boards are populated with all original components.There is no sign of service work. It appears the top cover was re-sprayed at some point. Anodized black face-plate shows its age with some lettering worn away and mottling in places.See photos for physical condition.I bought this some while back with the intention of re-capping it and using it in my office system.Time marches on and I dont see that happening now.Guaranteed as described. Nakamichi Hi End Pre Amplifier One of the Sought after for top Class MC Phono input. I had serviced. I had resoldered Cold Solder joints after noticing problem in one channel and checked for correct MC Phono setting per Service Manual. I also checked using Test equipment for correct operation to ensure stable operation after the resoldering. All inputs had been tested including low output MC Phono Cartridge playing Vinyl records. See notes on CA 7A design and its place in MC phono top Phono Preamplifiers. A generic programmed IR remote with all Remote Functions used on RM 7CA remote will be included. See Photo for the unit. Its operation will be sent along with user manual to the buyer When it comes to Vinyl play using low output Moving Coil Cartridge, Solid state Preamplifiers are judged by their low noise design and performance. Nakamichi CA 7A stands apart as it has all high end design aspects matching with multi thousand $ Pre Amplifiers but it is still available below 1000 $ in the used market. It is also a complete preamplifier with many inputs. Finally it also has Tone Control if you wish to shape the response minimally ( I did not feel the need when I use it) It uses time tested Toshiba JFETs ( junction Field Effect Transistors ) particularly using complimentary multiple parallel design in the MC input part to keep very low input noise. Its Power Supply is elaborate (dual Mono design) and has local Power Supply regulators using low noise potted Toroidal Transformers/ Elna Capacitors. It has a Sturdy Aluminum chassis with Gold plated inputs for all RCA connections . Its rest of the Circuitry is again using Toshiba Low Noise matched Dual FETs and discrete design. It is capacitor free signal path using Offset control. You also can notice Gold plated connectors including Spade connectors for low impedance signal lines as well Power line. Ultimately proof of the pudding is eating - so listening to Vinyl using this complete preamplifier with minimal Tone controls is a pleasure. It is extremely quite for MC phono play and very detailed reproduction making Vinyl sound better than anything you would have heard. However it works fine if you press them. Used Nakamichi 410 preamplifier, for parts or repair. I opened the unit only to inspect the interior and take photos. Right channel with weak output, left channel appears to be working properly. It looks like somebody else had opened the chassis before me, as there are some mis-matched and missing screws. The cosmetic condition is great, with hardly any flaws on the original wood cabinet. Two largest flaws shown in photos. Shipping to contiguous 48 states for $50 or less, will re-calculate once buyers location is known.

This is an amazing preamp that can be used as a standalone preamplifier or as part of the System One. Controls are quiet and the noise floor is dead silent. All inputs tested, including both phono inputs. The controls and patches are setup for studio use and where it would be at home in your living room system (and look super cool doing it), it could also be the control backbone of a home studio, with ample inputs and monitor capabilities. The face and chassis are in good condition with just a few normal wear and bump marks….the pictures should give you all you need. This has a reputation based on an absence of cross-talk derived from the internal build quality. multitude of connection possibilities. Balanced and unbalanced outputs to amplifiers. Balanced and unbalanced input from top of the range cd players. Great phone stage for moving magnet or moving coil cartridges. Factory OEM wooden sides - these are integral to the unit. Small chip from left hand side - easy repair for the dedicated or knowledgeable. Small repaired crack to bottom right hand corner. Unfortunately the db rating was removed from around the volume knob by over zealous cleaning, and the source direct button needs a bit of deoxit - it works fine after a couple of pushes. Due to these minor issues the start price is £500. These are a £1000 (in Europe) on this site, and increasing in value so please dont ask for a discount. No remote.

Up for sale is a very nice, properly working Nakamichi CA-7A solid state preamp. It works great on our Sound Technology test panel. More importantly it sounds great on music! We played music on it for 4-5 hours without any signs of trouble and tested it cold the following morning and all was still good! All inputs, including phono were tested and work as they should. NO REMOTE INCLUDED but we tested the unit with a remote we had around and the unit responded to (and worked!) all the remote commands. All lamps work and all buttons intact, none have fallen off! Were giving it an 7.5-8 of 10 for cosmetic condition, just a few minor blemishes here and there. Comes with 3 prong IEC power cord which may not be the original. Copy (not original) of the owners manual included. It will be very well packed and we promise it will arrive working and exactly as described No long term guarantee beyond that.
