By design, the Nakamichi Stasis amplifiers were quite different from conventional designs that used global feedback. Without getting into technical details, these amplifiers are inherently stable with any load and always maintain uniform output impedance with no distortion. Because it has no negative feedback it has no distortion. To supply the demand for power, this PA-7A used a massive 700 watt toridal transformer and will deliver up to 50 amps of current per channel. 16 output transistors per channel provide the power to drive any speaker you choose. I probably should have started with the fact the Nelson Pass designed these amplifiers. He personally holds more amplifier design than anyone or any company on the planet. He loves to bias his designs to run slightly into pure class-A territory. This amp is no different and has a smooth, warmth that draws you into the music. This amp is the MK II and they refined some of the interior layout and power supply lines. Also fixed the protection issue and the overheating problems. I am trying to sell of this whole Nakamichi 7 Series Stack PA-7 CA-7 OMS-7AII ST-7 for as less as possible as i need funds immediately. I bought from my friends collection who gave it to me several months ago. PA-7 : Both channels are recapped except the main caps still original as they work fine. Surge protection circuit was also rebuilt with new thermal fuses. Thermal paste is replaced and cleaned the unit inside out. BIAS is set at 40ma with heatsinks running at good temperature around 40C. CA-7 : Unit functions good and has a after market remote but it has all the exact functions with proper naming. If you have DIN cable for remote function you can control Devices like OMS-7s OMS-5s ST-7, CR-&A, Dragon and many more tape decks, also remote can adjust manual Azimuth in CR-7s. Only one button is missing but i am trying to using a button from OMS-5 to get this missing button added. OMS-7AII : Replaced belt and everything functioning properly all keys works ST-7 : i played both FM and AM and both play good, auto seek is working perfectly as well as manual tuning. I need money to buy a car so need to get this off ASAP. With CR-7 cassette deck this would be a golden collectors piece. Looks to be in very good cosmetic condition. Comes with its original shipping box and product box. Shipping packaging inserts, manual and original remote. The remote looks to have never been used. I wonder if this was a return because the volume knob was broke. Then reclaimed and stored for many years. Tested the unit and the door tray opened and closed fine. It seemed to go through the functions just fine. It sure does run pretty quiet. I only tested one disc on it. Just took it out of the box and removed the transit screw, hooked it up ran one disc and went through most of the functions and then inserted the transit screw back in. Then placed the unit back in its box. I left the remote untouched. All that said and since this is an old electronic from 1986 and good quality unit. THIS unit is to be sold in AS IS condition. Regardless of what the description states or does NOT state. NO future partial refunds for ANYTHING etc. I want it to go to someone who is handy with them. If something happens, I certainly NOT interested in what your repair guy has to say, cost etc. Old electronics this is your risk totally. I am just giving you an opportunity to simply own a quality Nakamichi system to the audio hobbyist who respects it and appreciates it for what it is as it is.
