M-XB-463 Nakamichi 670ZX 1980, serviced and fully operational Nakamichi Cassette Deck 670ZX, rare, fully operational, beautiful Description: A 670ZX cassette deck. Cassette deck with some features omitted or changed from the 680ZX, such as half speed. The 670ZX is equipped with an auto azimuth alignment function that automates azimuth adjustment. This allows adjustment simply by loading the tape to be recorded and turning on the calibration switch, and the adjustment is complete when the indicator on the play button stops blinking. In actual operation, when the calibration switch is turned ON, the built-in 400 Hz 0 dB test signal is turned ON and this is recorded. Then, the immediately reproduced 400 Hz sine wave signal is converted to a square wave, and the phase discrimination circuit detects the advance (delay) between the left and right channels. This phase shift activates the switching circuit to control the output of the operational amplifier. Depending on whether the right channel advances or lags behind the left channel, the positive or negative voltage applied to the output of the operational amplifier = motor terminals changes, and the direction of rotation of the motor changes. This moves the lever connected to the reduction gear and adjusts the tilt angle of the recording head. Nakamichi 670ZX Discrete Head Cassette Deck acquired from the family of the original owner. I gave this unit a quick test and unfortunately it does not work. The record and stop indicator lamps are illuminated, and thats as good as it gets. Pressing the switches has no effect. Cosmetic condition is excellent with a couple of tiny marks on the case that Superman would have a hard time finding and seeing. Due to age, a long period of non-use, and the above mentioned non-working condition, this cassette deck is offered for repair/restoration and sold as is. Please view the auction photos. Up for sale is a Nakamichi MB-2 CD player with a 7-bank CD changer capacity. For Parts or Repairs. The CD tray opens and would load the CD, but it wont read it. After a few seconds, the tray would open and an error message on display. This CD player comes with the original remote and is in great cosmetic condition. It would be a great piece if one can fix the unit!
