The OMS-70 was Nakamichis first CD player, and the OMS-50 omits the memory function and other features that would have been useful, but the basic performance and specifications are the same as those of the OMS-70. The OMS-50 has the same basic performance and specifications as the OMS-70. It has a very nice appearance, but although it turns on, it does not read CDs, so it is not playable. Nakamichi CD players are still very popular due in part to their excellent design, and the clean, clear tone that is especially noticeable in solo piano performances is a true Nakamichi sound.
