Great sounding Nakamichi Receiver 2 in good condition. The person I got this from was using this in his garage and decided to sell it when he found a different brand with more bells and whistles. After he hooked it up so I could verify that it worked, he wondered why he sold it. It had better sound than the bells and whistles model he was using. His loss is someone elses gain. The unit worked well with very good sound. I checked the cd input and the tape input, I did not check the phono input, but see no reason that there would be an issue as everything else worked correctly. One of the antenna clips has broken off, everything else is in good condition. The unit needs a good detail clean as it was in his dusty garage. I lightly wiped it down but did not do a detail clean. There looks to be a little paint on the unit, just cosmetic, does not affect the use. Please check the photos for cosmetic details.I looked up the specs online and have pasted them below. This unit is in nice pre owned condition. I acquired this from a local estate, and I am uncertain about it’s service history. It looks to be well taken care of- there are a few minor paint chips and scuffs, but it presents well- I took pictures of any cosmetic issues I could find. I tested this unit to the best of my ability, and believe that it is in good order. It plays/records nice, and runs quietly. The level sliders are smooth. The buttons and knobs are all responsive. Here i have a very rare find for the UK, a very very nice Nakamichi Amp-2 integrated. Ive wanted to build a matching Nak system around this amplifier ever since owning it, but the Nakamichi separates command such a price that its just not viable for someone like me that already owns so much other stuff, but boy oh boy does this amp impress from the very first musical note! The specs as youll see below, are relatively modest by monster amp standards, however, i would never have believed it is actually this modest, in fact the real world performance seems to destroy the specs altogether, because wow it punches way harder ! Ive run this connected to biggest and most inefficient speakers i have owned at different times, and still, i cannot in all seriousness get the volume control past the first third without risking neighbour complaints from all sides! But, of course its certainly not just about power and volume, it has a tight grip on the audio, and an energy unlike anything ive heard of this supposed spec, so much so i started to think it had been modified and upgraded, maybe at the same time that the speaker terminals were upgraded to a proper binding posts for banana jacks. In great condition all round, inside and out, and complete with the original remote control which will also control other Nak devices if youre lucky enough to own some. Also included is the accompanying owners manual and brochure.
