Vintage Nakamichi 3-head dual capstan cassette deck. This deck has new belts and idler tire. Frozen pinch roller arms were disassembled, cleaned and lubricated with synthetic grease. Tape speed and heads azimuth were adjusted with reference tapes, switches cleaned with Deoxit. As a preventive measure most of orange caps were replaced. The deck was tested and all functions perform as expected. Keep in mind that this is more than 40 years old used device for which original parts are not available. Expectations to perform as new are not reasonable. Cosmetics are very nice for the age with minimal signs of use. Shipping is flat $33 to Continental USA only, no APO/FPO or PO Boxes. This Nakamichi was top of the 480 series range when new, and cost a small fortune. This particular example appears to have been purchased by a person who really cared for his property, with the result that the only blemish is a very small knock to the lower left corner of the fascia. Otherwise it is unmarked on all visible surfaces, and only the usual age related surface discolourations one often sees on the base-plate. It is extremely rare to find a machine like this in such fine condition. The 482Z appears to have had very little use, with the heads and pinch rollers nearly unworn. I think that the owner had it serviced by somebody who failed to spot a failing transistor in the logic control, which affected both the LED level display and the recording function, and as a result, the machine has been dry-stored and broken, probably for some decades! I have repaired the logic faults, stripped and cleaned the transport in order to re-lubricate, re-assembled with new belts and FF/REW drive tyre, demagnetised, and fully re-calibrated to original factory spec. Recording/Playback tests are impossible to tell apart, and normal playback is typically Nakamichi - about as good as it gets! I am asking a premium price for a very rare item these days.I Service, Repair, and Restore old HiFi for a living, and am a Qualified Electronics Engineer (BSc-London). I spent many years in the Audio Industry, as as a developer, designer, and manufacturer of well reviewed and respected equipment. I always endevour to ensure that all kit that passes across my work-bench, leaves fully operational as originally designed. Physical, external damage is often hard to disguise, and I usually choose to make sure prospective customers see this as part of the transaction. Although the nature of the work cannot allow for an official warranty beyond failure at point of delivery, I always look after my customers in the longer term, should anything untoward go wrong.

Listed is a Nakamichi RM-100 wired remote control. It is in good condition with a few blemishes and scratches. It is tested and works without issue.
