Nakamichi 480Z Cassette Deck This is a fully restored Nakamichi 480Z. It is a 2 head cassette deck. This machine has Dolby B and C noise reduction and can record on Type1, 2 or metal tape. It is calibrated for TDK tape. It performs to original specifications. Its calibrated to record on TDK D, SA and MA (metal) tapes. This is in fairly good cosmetic condition, there are a few scratches in the top cover. All belts, all of the orange capacitors and some of the electrolytic filter capacitors have been replaced. Electronics (levels and record bias for all 3 tape types) and transport (head height, penetration, zenith and azimuth) have been correctly aligned. Features: Pressure pad lifter. Dolby B and Dolby C noise reduction. 3 digit tape counter. Compatible with normal, chrome and metal tape. Belt driven dual-capstan transport. LED peak reading VU meters. Full-logic transport controls for fast and effortless transport function selection. Memory Stop. Front panel record bias control. The transport was disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and realigned. All belts and idlers were replaced along with many capacitors. It has been carefully aligned using a Sound Technology 1510A tape recorder test set and fresh alignment tapes. This machine is up to original specifications, the heads are in good shape, it is in good cosmetic condition and it sounds really good.
