Naim NAC 42 Preamp & NAP 140 Power Amp Chrome Bumper Serial Numbers NAC 42 - 10166 = 1983 NAP 140 - 34591 = 1987 Both in really good condition...small scratch on top of the NAP 140 and very feint, minor rubs on both...hardly noticeable. The sound is fantastic...I used an Arcam CD player (connected to the Tuner input) and my Mitchell Focus One turntable with Ortofon MM cartridge. The amps behaved perfectly. No phono boards in the NAC 42...but I use a MM preamp anyway. The NAC 42 Preamp is fitted with NA 328/2 boards designed to optimize CD use...but these can easily be swapped out for Naim phono boards if preferred. Supplied with original Naim mains cable and NA-51 Hicap interconnect. This setup does not need a Hicap, as the NAC 42 draws power from the NAP 140. Ive included lots of photos, both external and internal so you can see the full condition. Both units had perished rubber feet, so new ones are now fitted. I have no idea if these have ever been serviced...they could be original?...but the capacitors all look in good condition...and the sound (to my ears) is great.
