This is a Naim Headline 2 with Din connection to a Naim pre-amplifier and power supply. It has the usual Naim pace, rhythm and timing and can drive difficult headphone loads. Manufactured around 2014 I have been using this on my Naim system with great results.

About this Headline 2 This is a fantastic example of the Headline 2. It’s the DIN version, making it the perfect partner for Naim amps. It’s in excellent functional and cosmetic condition. As you can see from the images, this particular Headline 2 has been fitted, by a Naim dealer, with an extended interconnect cable. The cable itself is the very high quality Linn Silver, which usual sells for £47 per metre (unterminated). This cable is just over 4.4 metres long, making it over £200’s worth. This longer cable provides two advantages. If your system is on the other side of the room, it makes it much easier to place the Headline 2 beside you, letting you easily use headphones with a short cable. The cable itself is also much higher quality than the original Naim grey cable. This means that, even though the cable is longer, the sound quality is actually better. The amp has been tested and we can confirm that it’s in excellent working order. There’s no distortion or volume control noise. The power LED works and all the sockets are secure. Cosmetically, this Headline 2 is in excellent condition with no major marks or scuffs, just a few tiny marks, such as the top front corner. About the Headline 2 The Headline 2 followed on from the original (olive) Headline and, like its predecessor, it’s a dedicated headphone amplifier that requires an outboard power supply. It’s designed to power a wide range of headphones and has far more power and finesse than just about any regular amplifier’s built-in headphone socket. The first thing you’ll notice is just how quiet the background is. This reveals more subtle details, letting higher quality headphones really shine. Distortion is also extremely low, letting you hear your music ‘like it is’. Build quality is superb, with the machined aluminium casing feeling very solid and shielding the sensitive electronics from interference. Power comes via a 2-pin DIN socket, that can be matched with a wide range of Naim power supplies - from the basic i-Supply, right up to the SuperCap DR. The better the power supply you use, the better the sound gets.
