The CDS3 is the most analogue sounding CD player I have ever heard. It is only bettered by the Naim CD555 which retailed for $20k. The CDS3 requires an external power supply (Naim XPS or 555PS). The clarity and imagining was nothing like I had ever achieved with my vintage equipment, but I guess thats what you would expect from 40-50 years of technological advancement. However, the units saw almost no use over the next 3-4 years as I am constantly acquiring and playing with new acquisitions. I would say that the units saw less than 10 hours of playing time over the time I owned them. Needless to say that the condition of these units is pristine. There are no marks anywhere on them.
