Description
I am the original owner of this 1987 NAD 7600 receiver. I live in an apartment now, and it seems that if I merely turn it in people are complaining about the music. I purchased a WiiM amp, with low power; and, nobody complains anymore. So, I have decided to sell this very very rare piece. This was NAD’s flagship tuner, pre-amp and amp, all in one. The Good: It’s condition is nearly flawless, no marks or dings, and has a clean functioning remote. All lights appear to be working. Tuner performs great. Amp sounds great. The Bad: The electric motor that operates the volume quit. Not to hard to fix. The potentiometers on the balance, and the volume, are dirty, and when you rotate them you hear static, and I have to play with the balance to get the right speaker to play normally. I think because I rarely if ever changed the balance, it got corroded. Others have told me that it would be wise to restore the 7600, using a restoration kit as seen in one of the photos. I don’t own a soldering gun; and, I know nothing about fixing electronics. This is too nice a piece, to have me screw it up? I am simply not comfortable doing it. I had AI do some research, and it came up with all the wonderful things this receiver can do, down below. This receiver, back in 1987, cost $5,700.00, when adjusted for inflation. If it were not for the issues listed, I would be asking for around $2,000.00.
