NAD M51 35-bit 844kHz DAC and Digital Preamplifier with remote control, and the latest fireware. I compared it with Denafrips Ares-2 DAC using my Cyrus Smartpower amp, M51 is better in terms clearity, sound stage depth, and details. Retails price was £1500. I would think is was comparable to many hi-end DAC at £2500-3000 range. NAD simply focuses on sound quality as well as solid build. NAD M51 is saught after, rarely availble now in the market. It can be used as a life-time product. It is in mint condition as you can see from the pictures. It can be directly connected to a power amplifier; or can be set as fixed output feeding to a preamp. I find that the M51 is working prefectly with my Cyrus Smartpower amp driving QUAD S5 speakers, delivering really good sound, which you may need to pay much more for a high-end system to get the same. Also I tried to compare with Arcam CDS50 DAC (used as external DAC), which is already a good DAC. I could tell significant improvement of sound stage and details when using the NAD M51. The experiment really gave me a wow impression.
