NAD C160 Stereo Preamplifier for sale by original owner in excellent condition. US version. Includes all original packaging, remote control and all documentation including the owners manual. I bought this C160 preamp (and the companion NAD C270 power amp in my other listing) in 2002 as NAD factory refurbished units. The original sales receipt is included with each unit. I used them in my home stereo system for several years - they sounded great and worked perfectly. It’s a pretty versatile preamp. The phono section includes both MM and MC inputs, and there are two Tape in/out connections as well as CD, Video, Aux and Tuner inputs, and fixed and variable pre-out outputs. Following a stereo system update a few years ago both this preamp and the power amp were stored back in the original factory packaging. They have always been in a climate controlled, smoke-free household environment. Although this unit was working properly when last used, it has been in storage for several years and I was not able to fully test it out before listing it this sale. Preamp is top one in picture This amplifier is in pristine beautiful condition. One corner scratched and fixed with mixed model paints to colour match. It has been cleaned and treated to get the best sound quality with no crackles when knobs are adjusted. The sound quality is clean, clear, smooth and robust. It fills a 2000 Square foot room fully at 1/8 volume, and when demanded can clear the room at full volume. You will need a powerful set of stereo speakers to handle this amplifiers full output. If any issues I will work with you to resolve them. I fully stand behind the equipment I service. It will give you many years of reliable quality service with the modern parts replaced. I also downloaded a manual to be sent with the amplifier.

Powers on but no output for either channel. Circuit board photos show discoloration near the power output transistors. They may need replacement. Needs TLC to bring it back to life. Will be well packed and shipped immediately upon payment.
