I do not know the history of it. It is built like a rock and is quite heavy. Sale is for the amplifier only, no remote, power cable or any other accessories are included. This NAD preamp does work, but it has a couple issues. First, its missing the physical power button but the mechanism still works. Secondly, the sound on the right speaker goes in & out. A slight jiggle of the volume knob makes that issue go away which PROBABLY means that its just an oxidation issue and a spray of de-ox should PROBABLY fix that. Lastly, there is a separate issue with the phono and I couldnt get any sound through the speakers. I have priced the unit accordingly. It does have some cosmetic imperfections - please see pics.
