Up for your consideration is this vintage NAD Monitor Series 2400 stereo power amplifier. It has been serviced and brought back to factory spec. I was a licensed audio/video bench tech for over 20 years (now retired). I have an arrangement with a couple of electronic recycling companies to cherry pick items that I know how to fix easily. This piece has new capacitors in the amplifier section (ones that typically fail due to heat). The low voltage supply also has new filters for good measure. Ive scoped the channels for high freq. oscillation and excessive ripple (none found). The output DC offset meets spec and the DC bias was adjusted to factory settings. I ran an 8 hour listen test attached to my Martin Logan electro-static speakers with no problems. Cosmetics: there is some slight paint loss along the top front edge due to poor handling by the salvage company. This is an audiophile level NAD 2400 Power Envelope stereo power amplifier in excellent operating condition. This amplifiers rated power for continuous test tones is 100 watts per channel. If even more power is required, the two channels of the 2400 can be bridged to create a 200 watt single-channel amplifier. Each stage of the amplifier (input, driver, and output) is individually decoupled from the power supply to prevent the dynamic supply-modulation distortion that causes some amplifiers to sound veiled and muddy. With a signal to noise ratio of 118dB, it also provides transparent, distortionless reproduction of quiet musical passages and the smallest details. This 2400 has been well maintained and kept in a temperature controlled, non-smoking environment.
