For sale is just a powerhouse of an NAD 218THX amplifier. Boasting 225 wpc ( very underrated). This unit works perfectly, it was taken out of a functioning stereo setup and sounds amazing. If you look at the pictures you can see some blemishes in the case- there is a dent( pictued) on the top of the amplifier and one side for rack mounting is a little bent ( also pictured). This amplifier is cosmetically beautiful! Left channel works perfect, but right channel has issues. The right channel will intermittently pop a few minutes after turn on. This pop will make it bounce into protect at a minimum. It may also cook the speaker and or speaker output relay when this happens. After the pop which may or may not occur, the amp will play all day just fine! If it doesn’t pop within 15 or 20 minutes, it will play fine all day. All electrolytes in that channel have been replaced along with several transistors in the front stage. I have been unable to find the issue because 1) it is so inconsistent and 2) it is a couple second event. Heating and cooling components seem to have no effect. You are buying as is.
