This NAD 1020 looks a little roughed up on the outside, but its good as new (or better) on the inside. The lack of air vents on the top cover keep the insides of the 1020 in pristine condition. Please see photos. I have upgraded the Power Switch and muting circuit to the all electronic version of the 3225PE and beyond. One of the Fuse Clips was marginal, so I replaced all four. In addition, I installed a new screw/nut to reinforce the PC Board to the chassis near the rear RCA Output Jacks. Please note that all of the RCA Jacks are a bit fragile and should be treated with care. The Audio Caps have been upgraded to WIMA Film at the Phono Input and Vishay Film in the Bass Tone Filter. The other audio caps are nichicon MUSE, BP, FW/Fine Gold, and a pair of ELNA Bipolars in the Tone feedback. The Power Supply caps have been upgraded to nichicon, ELNA and Panasonic.
