This NAD 1000 arrived in a general state of disrepair, but has been restored to Like New or better performance. The Treble Control Potentiometer has been replaced. The other Pots were noisy, and the Switches were intermittent. Deoxit D5 and Fader F5 worked wonders like they always do. The Video Input Left RCA Jack was intermittent. I replaced the entire subpanel of four Video / Tuner Input RCA Jacks. The Headphone Jack was broken. I found a suitable replacement, but without the isolated muting switches. As a result, the Preamp Ouputs 1 and 2 DO NOT mute when a headphone plug is inserted. I prefer to have the Preamp Outputs always active anyway. I hope you do, too. I have also upgraded all of the Electrolytic Capacitors. The new audio coupling caps are Philips Metal Film or Bipolar ELNA/nichion electrolytics. The Phono Preamp caps are ELNA. The Control Preamp caps are ELNA and nichicon. The Headphone Amp caps are Philips and nichicon. The Power supply caps are ELNA, nichicon, Panasonic, and Chemicon. Cosmetically, this NAD 1000 is in beautiful condition except for some scratches on the top/side cover. Please see photos. The chassis threads for the right front cover screw are stripped, but I was able to snug things up with a small plastic shim. Full refund within 60 days. Buyer pays return shipping. Its enhanced design is based on the NAD 1020A/B, with all-discrete Low Noise MC/MM Phono and Control Preamps. An additional dual OpAmp design provides power and isolation for the headphone outputs. The Stereo Volume Potentiometer is a higher quality ALPS than typically found in other NAD units. Another nice feature is that the Power ON/OFF Mute is all electronic instead of being controlled by the position of the Power Switch. This means that the Power ON/OFF muting will function properly even when remotely switched by a Smart Power device, Power Strip, etc.

Up for auction is a NAD 1000 preamplifier. I used this for a number of years before upgrading. Still works great! It was tested with an Adcom GFA-535 Power Amplifier, a Marantz CD Player, a pair of Rogers LS3/5A BBC Speakers and a Bluetooth adapter connected to the video input. The unit works well. The Bluetooth adapter will be included so that you can stream Spotify or whatever source you choose. NAD 1000 Monitor Series preamplifier This preamplifier is in beautiful condition and has been recapped (all electrolytic capacitors) and upgraded. Cosmetically it is very nice with minimal wear. The faceplate is excellent but there are two tiny nicks at the top edge (see close up photo). All electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with newer, higher quality components. Where appropriate the capacitance and voltage specs were increased. Nichicon PW caps were used in the power supply, Nichicon audio grade KZ and FG caps for signal path. A few small value caps in the preamp and headphone sections were upgraded to WIMA MKS film caps. Please feel free to ask any questions.
