Sonys ES (Elevated Standard) series are some of the most beautiful electronics ever made in our opinion. Of these, one amplifer stands out. It sports huge, backlit VU meters, silent fanless operation, and twin isolated power supplies with triple parallel bipolar output stages. The TA-N77ES is a bit of an anomily as it also sounds better then any Sony amplifier weve ever heard. (A little know secret is Sony sold this design to Accuphase and it became the P-4100. It has half the power and costs 10x the price). This amplifier has one of the lowest THD ratings you may ever see. One thing we love about this amplifier is that it is purely analog. Pressing the power button you hear real speaker relays and then power relays. No microprocessors or any turn-on / off thumps. The base is a unique material called G-fiber. It aids in dampening vibrations. The rosewood sides are class ES and a nice touch, even if they are particle board and plastic. This amp features both fixed and variable inputs so you can run a source directly into the amp and has front panel gain controls or use it with a standard preamp. Oh....then there are those big, beautiful meters. Its worth owning this amp just for these alone! They were known for being extremely accurate. ??????? Meter lights work on the right side but left side bulbs needs replaced. Works great ???? super clean unit!

This works but the left side is weak until you turn the attenuator all the way up and wiggle the control to get the right spot for it to play. There is a problem with that left control switch. Also the left meter jumps a little but not like the right meter. All four channels do work I tested them all. There is damage to the wood veneer on the side panels as shown. There is something that came loose inside either a solder bead or a screw or bolt not sure but it is loose inside and rattles as you rotate the unit. I did not open this unit up to see what was inside This is why I am listening for as is for parts because I did not do anything to this unit youre receiving it the way I received it. There are no returns or refunds for this unit I will secure unit for shipping it is very heavy so you will pay accordingly to your location to Delaware I will also add local pickup if you decide to pick up locally.

VINTAGE Sony TA-N77ES TESTED - WORKS ** Please Read **. ***********. Local Pick-up Available **** This item is pre-owned. I am the second owner. It has been tested and works properly. The unit does have wear mainly in the inner cage due to a snow globe water leak 12 years ago while in storage. The item has been in use for the 10 years. The leaked which caused rust on the under vent plate as shown in the pictures. I used black enamel to stop the rust from progressing. As shown in the pictures, there is paint corrosion/chip on the power supply. The Meters work. The bulbs needs replacing (video included). The bulbs were never replaced since Ive owned it so Im not sure if it powers on at all. The face plate and is in excellent condition with minimal wear. The wood laminate is also in very good condition with slight wear. Please review all pictures before purchasing. If you have any questions regarding this item, please ask before purchasing.
