Untested. Got this amp as a set with some speakers but I was told it needed repair. Only needs the NIMH battery removed or replaced according to the original owner but no way to verify as i’m not technically inclined nor do I have the security torx bits to open it up. Only amp will be shipped

INFORMATION (REVIEWS): Sonically the A3 just sings. One of the reviews I read called it smooth. If I had to describe the Sonics in one word, that would be it. Highs are beautifully extended without a hint of grain. I can now appreciate what people mean when they say something sounds liquid. Literally heard cymbals run down the front of my speakers with amazing life like realism. Vocals are easily as good as they used to be (great goose bump potential here). Bass is authoritative and dynamic, easily handling the explosive bass drum hits in Telarc recordings played at loud levels. I detected a small mid base hump that stands out on male FM announcers voices but is not normally obtrusive. This is probably responsible for the warm or tube like label some people give this amp. Speaking of warm, a few degrees above room temperature is all this puppy gets. The A3 is real testament to what a well-designed, low biased class A/B amp can accomplish. The Musical Fidelity A3.5 is a dual mono amplifier with a single very large toroidal transformer. Power is listed as 240w per channel at 4ohm which is enough to drive the toughest of loads without running out of steam... its always hard to put forward sound descriptions of SS amps into words but I would say the amp has clarity, control, and adds merely to overall enjoyment of music. The unit was unveiled in '05 and this unit is in untouched one owner condition - ready to play beautifully for Its next owner. No remote comes with the amp and that's reflected in the asking price. There are a number of aftermarket remotes available and you may get lucky and come up with an OG one online.
