Musical Fidelity A1 - das Original aus den 80ern Versteigere einen Musical Fidelity A1 - technisch überholt, optisch mit Patina. Liebhaber kennen den A1, ich habe ihn in den 80ern begehrt, konnte ihn mir aber damals nicht leisten.Heute habe ich mehrere, zwei müssen jetzt gehen. Exkurs zur Technik:Es gibt heute ein schwankendes Angebot an gebrauchten A1 Verstärkern. Diese werden zum Teil (hab das schon erlebt) als technisch in Ordnung bezeichnet, aber ohne eine Überholung ist das schlicht unwahr - außer, sie wurden nie genutzt. Der A1 erzeugt eine enorme Hitze, die über die Aludecke/Kühlrippe abgeleitet werden. Der Innenraum ist aber dennoch sehr heiß. Das hat zur Folge, dass nach und nach die Elkos sterben. Macht sich irgendwann klanglich bemerkbar, oder führt zum Ausfall. Auch ist der Vorverstärker ungünstig konzipiert. Hier liegt Gleichstrom am Lautsstärke-Potentiometer an, mit dem Effekt, dass beim Regeln ein Knistern zu hören ist. Man denkt vielleicht es sei Staub, aber es sind eher Einbrennungen. Das Elko-Problem kann man leicht lösen. Bei meinem Verstärker sind alle Elkos getauscht. Wo sinnvoll und möglich gegen Panasonic FC - Typen (gelten als audiophil und sind für höhere Hitze geeignet).Das Lautstärke-Potentiometer wurde getauscht gegen ein neues Alps. Der originale Vorverstärker-Schaltkreis wurde belassen, daher wird eines Tages das Knistern wieder beginnen. So ist der A1... Ich habe bei diesem A1 die Endstufen-Transistoren getauscht, gegen aktuelle Motorola Typen (ON): MJ15003G/MJ15004G. Die alten waren nicht defekt, ich wollten mal den Unterschied hören. Es gab keinen! Jedenfalls habe ich im direkten Vergleich mit einem A1 mit alten Transistoren und ansonsten der fast gleichen Überholung keinen gehört. Auf den Fotos sieht man das Innenleben nach Austausch, die getauschten Komponenten lege ich bei. Zum Verstärker:Sein Klang ist Legende. Liegt sicherlich daran, dass er bis etwa 8W in Class A spielt und darüber hinaus Class A/B, aber mit einer Schaltung, die auf die klanglichen Vorteile von Class A abgestimmt ist. Er hat ein ordentliches Bassfundament, angenehme Höhen und spielt sehr räumlich und ausgewogen. Ich würde ihm Röhrenqualitäten zusprechen wollen; ganz sicher klingt er nicht übertrieben analytisch wie ein moderner Class D Verstärker. Egal, Liebhaber wissen, was ich meine. Zur Optik:Er hat Gebrauchsspuren; die Fotos zeigen das bedingt. Der Aludeckel (aka Kühlrippen) ist schwarz lackiert und hat ein paar Stellen, wo der Lack abgeplatzt ist und das Aluminium sichtbar ist (siehe Fotos). The remote is milled from aluminum and weighs a couple pounds by itself. The preamplifier chassis comprises four nuvistor triodes, and the amplifier is dual-mono solid-state outputting 330 watts into 8 ohms.This is the best of both worlds -- the richness of a tube input stage coupled with the power and detail of solid-state amplification.There are five inputs -- four RCA pairs and one XLR pair, as well as a switch which places the unit in home theater mode, bypassing the volume control.
