These are fully tested and sound incredible. They have matching Serial #s 3855. They are in very good all original condition. Very minor signs of age and use. A few very tiny corner chips hardly noticeable, the grills are very good no holes, pulls, or discoloration. They were very well taken care of. Please look very closely at all the pictures for their exact condition. These were a very expensive pair of surround speakers. They sold new in 2000 for $899.99 a pair. Thats $1,577.52 in todays dollars. They are simply amazing in every respect. I did a little research after buying them, testing the old bipole vs. dipole vs. direct radiating theories. My conclusion: dipoles truly are the best all around compromise. These speakers really and truly disappear acoustically in the dipole configuration. Sound envelopes the listener with very few audible clues as to the fact that emanate from boxes on the wall. These speakers are, for the lack of a better word, uncanny. The detail, especially with multichannel music is, frankly, unreal. In the DTS version of the Eagles Seven Bridges Road, (yeah, I know- you either love em or hate em) each member of the bands vocal part is perfectly clear and distinct, yet flawlessly blended as a whole. Ive never heard this level of musical or spatial detail in any other speaker, regardless of radiation pattern. Even more astonishing, especially considering the size, is the staggering dynamics of the FXi. During the scene in Air Force One where the American fighter escort forms up to protect the president from a squadron of Migs, the roar is terrifying, and Im used to using five high efficiency studio monitors (102 dB/W/m) running full-bore. My theory is that the sharpness and detail of the sound compensates for the fact that they cant possibly play as loud. Less volume, but more sound! At any rate, I rate the Monitor Audio Silver FXi as the finest surround speaker Ive ever heard and recommend them with the utmost confidence to any Silver owner. For sale, my loved pair of Monitor Audio Silver FXi Bipole/Dipole Surround sound speakers, with perfect drivers, original packing, and in 100% working order. These are simply amazing when used to place rear surround effects, and provide amazing detail, imaging and coherence, even if used with speakers from other manufacturers. I'm using different speakers at the moment due to room limitations and don't see me utilising these again in the near future so have decided to part with them. Originally cost £400 new (often more depending on the retailer) and you can tell why as soon as you hear them. Much better than my old M&K units I used to use, and a lot better looking, especially with the grilles off if you can manage it, as the drivers look awesome. Some very minor marks, but they have been well cared for in a non smoking environment. One grille peg missing but no effect on mounting security. Very minor marks to grilles.
