Projector has 1719 hours on it. The color wheel whines audibly. It’s not very loud and it’s been whining for a long time so doesn’t affect the performance. It could be replaced but is not necessary. This projector working great for years, but then recently developed a whining sound when it would start up. After it warmed up for a while, the noise would stop. But each time it was restarted, the noise got worse, and took longer to stop. Finally, upon disassembling it, I found that the cast metal piece that holds the projection aperture and the color wheel had become burned and distorted by the heat of the lamp. The metal was actually crumbling in places! The projection bulb is not very old, and the color wheel looks in good condition except for a bit of wear from scraping against the metal gate, but the color is not damaged. Sold for parts or for rebuilding if you have a good cast metal gate piece for it. Disassembled, with all parts, and the original IR remote. Sold As-Is, no returns. This lamp is a consumable. It may burn out or its brightness may decrease during use. In such cases, replace the lamp with a new one as soon as possible. Be sure to replace the lamp with a new lamp. Interval of Lamp Replacement The recommended interval of lamp replacement is about 3000 hours of consecutive use. Such interval differs depending on the operating environment and may be shorter than 3000 hours. Decrease in luminescence and/or color brightness indicates that the lamp needs to be replaced. When the lamp operation time exceeds 2250 hours, the indicator will blink alternately between green and red [ while the lamp is lit; when the lamp is not lit, the indicator will be lit red only ] and the lamp replacement message will appear on the screen for one minute everytime the lamp is turned on.
