Im old. Ive had a bunch of fancypants FM tuners. This is the one I settled on. Why? Because when a hi-fi company designs a tuner, what they want to do is rack up numbers for the reception capabilities. The way it sounds is somewhere down the list. I had one top-shelf tuner that sounded exceptionally bad. This one sounds exceptionally good. No foolin. Ive even run into a couple of guys along the way whove had the same experience that Ive had. A bunch of elaborate tuners, and finally this was the one that they stayed with. And they had the same observations about the sound that I had. I dont think that there are any op-amps in the audio chain. All discrete. The sound is both smooth and lively, very lively. As much as the radio station permits, that is, and theres not much you or I can do about that. So if you want a really delicious-sounding tuner, this is the one you want. As I write this, right now, there are three other guys here selling these. One guy wants $75 for one that has problems, one wants $200, and one wants $600 plus $50 for shipping. As for the ones that actually sold over the last couple of months, there were three. One went for $150 plus $60 shipping,one went for $160 plus $60 shipping, and one went for $190 including shipping. Let me start with $140, to be the least-expensive actually working piece here. Of course if you want to bid it up, that would be fine with me. Shipping might be a bit more that youd expect because its a bit heavier than youd expect. Love. .
